in، on، at: چیزها کجا هستند

کلمه‌ی «در» در فارسی در انگلیسی سه تا می‌شود. اینجا یاد می‌گیرید کدام را انتخاب کنید، به‌علاوه‌ی under، next to، between و opposite.

کلیدهایتان کجاست؟ در فارسی می‌گوییم «روی میز» یا «توی کیف»، و انگلیسی هم دقیقاً همین کار را با on و in می‌کند. قسمت سخت at است، چون ما در فارسی اغلب فقط «در» می‌گوییم.

دقت کنید: in the car اما on the bus/train/plane (چون می‌شود داخلشان ایستاد و راه رفت). آدرس کامل با at می‌آید و اسم خیابان تنها با on.

چند کلمه‌ی کاربردی دیگر

under (زیر) — The shoes are under the bed.
next to (کنار) — Sit next to me.
between (بین) — The café is between the bank and the park.
opposite (روبه‌روی) — The hotel is opposite the station.
behind / in front of (پشت / جلوی) — The car park is behind the building.
